Q:
how long is a very long brook trout? My longest is 15 1/2".

coming from an actual brook, my biggest is right around 15 inches too...but ive caught bigger in actual lakes

Biggest I have caught was a native brook trout in a small mountain stream and he was only 13 inches. Think anytime you start getting over 12 inches a native brook trout that big is a great fish.

In streams anything over 10 inches is nice. Anything over 18" is brag worthy. I think the small ones are the most beautiful fish on earth.

Mine is 12 1/2 out a tiny mountain stream that was 8 feet wide and 4 feet deep.

i have cought them 21and a half inches long 4 and a half pounds, out of lakes up here in the adirondacks and yes they were natives and pure strain trout . little tupper's to be exact

That's a big one, but up where cooner mentions is where the real whoppers are. Northeast NY is like the last great place for big native brookies.

That's a great fish. My buddy fishes a river that empties into one of Michigan's largest inland lakes, and when the brookies run up that river he gets into some 18 inch fish.
