I like to jump-shoot ducks from my canoe as we float downriver..we try to make at least one 'cast and blast' trip every year, fishing and duck hunting as we float...for impatient types it beats sitting in a blind all day...

I like a blind in a large grassy marsh so I can see far off birds. Also while we're at it give me lots of ice with an open hole in front of the blind. Nothing prettier than a flight of Mallards with landing gear down. One time down at Marais De Cygne KS I was laying on my back in some grass at waters edge about half asleep. Decoys on a nearby hole in the ice. It was sunny, cold with a light wind. I heard a hissing sound overhead and opened my eyes. Straight up there was about 100 Mallards and Pintails in a corkscrew spiral dropping. The sound was their wings locked and whistling as they dropped. Got my limit 5 straight days on that hole.
