Go to several shops with ranges, and shoot as many as you can, you'll fall in love with one thats best for you. If you ask this question you'll usually get 30 or more names and how thier bow is the best, but best for them don't mean best for you most of the time.
I shoot a Mathews and love it, but I don't like this years new ones, they feel top heavy to me, but my DXT is perfect for me, and I shot everything I could get my hands on from every store in my area. There were cheeper bows that I liked (cheeper don't mean not as good, or as well made)But I loved mine and was blessed by being able to swing it at the time.
Martin makes some real nice bows that wont brake the bank, as well as Mission, Ross, and Parker, and so on and so on! Don't get cornered by a salesman, thier best seller don't mean anything to you, check prices while you visit shops, and how you feel about thier service. Then go back and get your bow, if you get a good deal online remember that your not going to get as much help or brakes at the local shop setting it up, or if something goes wrong, most good shops will take care of you when you buy it from them.
If you think about it it's not a bad way to spend a weekend or two! Good luck let us know what you get.

Most people have their preferred brands, but the bow technology these days is so good that the brand of bow really doesn't matter. Go to the bow shop and try a few different bows. Pick the one that has a smooth and comfortable draw, and shoots tight groups.

For a great bow at a low price, Diamond Razor's Edge or Rock, Mission Journey or Menace and PSE Bow Madness XS or Stinger or Brute are great choices for Bows Under $500.00
