i am new to bow hunting and need to know if i can use a golf range finder for hunting, thanks

I think they work but you dont get the feature you would with a hunting rangefinder. If you are going with the golf one because it is cheaper i would recommend a brunton echo. its inexpensive and works great

As long as it's not the kind that need to have a reflective surface it should work just fine for hunting purposes. It shouldn't be too vital with bow hunting though since you shouldn't be taking shots too much further than 40 yards.

no because a golf range finder cant tell the yardage accuratly out of treestands

It'll work just fine. a yard is a yard and nothing will change that. when you yardage it from a tree stand it will be off a bit but just aim at the distance the animal is from the bottom of your treestand. make some markers before you go in your stand.

codyboyd has it exactly right. the only thing missing would be compensation for extreme angle shots. In that case just measure from the base of the tree.
