Q:
I need to get out to my stand and slightly adjust it to make it more comfortable before the rut and all day sits start (yes I know, this should have been done weeks ago.) I want to be comfortable sitting there but I also don't want to spook the deer, as I am going to start hitting the woods hard come this next weekend. How long would you say human activity around your hunting area spooks away deer this time of year? Thanks in advance.

I'd wait and adjust the stand the next time I hunt it. As long as you wear rubber boots, clean unscented cloths, rubber glove and you dont sweat the area up it should be ready to hunt in 1 hour.
Spooking deer in my area means they will find an alternate route for a day or two then move back.
if you can i would wait till rite before the next rain
system comes thru so if any scent is left behind it
will wash away and yes i would spray down good and wear rubber boots and gloves still i would wait for
a rain.
you worry too much. I hunt all kinds of other game in my deer hunting area.(turkeys, grouse, squirrel, rabbits, coyote) The deer simply get use to you coming and going.
It is when you never go into your woods except to hunt they get suspicious and may lay low for awhile.
Oh charlie your right, when deer see you walking into the woods they will just figure you are hunting something else and won't be suspicious at all. They will just walk right past you without any hesitance. Nah only kidding, just had to say it cause you called me a chicken for being scared!
Just go ahead and move it. There shouldn't be a cosequence. We drive right into our baitpiles with 4 wheelers to bait at night and see no change in deer activity.
During the rut it wont make a difference the deer are to concentrated on breeding and not as wary.
If it rains right after you mess with your hunting area it will wash all the scent you took in there will you were working on it. The deer will use a diffrent routine for a couple of days but they will find thereselves right back into there daily routine. It wont hurt it that much at all or if any.
You have a good sense of humor bigbuckhunter2202.
+ for you.
Don't be scared just hunt on,
charlie
