Q:
What do you do with a coyote after you kill one? In TN we have year round no limit either sex hunting of them and was curious as to what people did with them afterwards. Also does anyone know a way I can see the article "shotgunning for coyotes", it was printed a couple months back and I lost the magazine it was in.

If the fur is good skin him and freeze the hide in a plastic bag. A Taxidermist can tan the skin or mount the yote for you. You can also sell the fur for a few bucks.

I tan the hides in my garrage and give them away to people i know. As for the bodies, i usually drag them around behind my ATV and then try to shoot hogs over them. not much else you can do without a trapper/trader lisence. But be creative coyote skulls and teeth can make cool decorations to hunting camp or a western style -manly den. Also, if you have the money, a full mount coyote makes a great addition to a trophy room.

i actually shot a coyote with my 30-30 and made 15 bucks and a pair of deerskin work gloves from the fur trader. if you shoot a good lookin one they'll give you more money. Victorytw228, 50 bucks for a coyote? you're kidding. an average coyote in nebraska pays about 5 bucks, 10 if you're real lucky. it just happened to be that my grandpa knew the fur trader from years ago, so he gave me a bonus. i want to know where you live! haha

shoot it leave it and hunt over it, coyotes eat coyotes :-) you can skin them yourself or take it to a taxidermist to have them skin and tan it. the pelts arent worth much here in WI, a couple bucks not worth skinning it
