Make a v-notched rope carrier out of plywood or a 2x6
I usually wrap it around my hand and tie a knot in the middle of it,and place it in the front of my back pack.
drill a hole in the lid of a mayo jar and put the cord in the jar and feed the rope thru the top of the jar it makes it compact and easy to pull out and put away
I keep everything in my day pack in individual zip lock bags...
Make about a 8-12 inch loops and when you get enough wrap it around itself and pull it back through the eye on one end, then slide up the wrap.
I wrap it from my hand to my elbow then tie it in the middle.
field and stream has an article that I seen in a recent issue on how to make a gun sling out of parachute cord
weave it into a belt or rifle strap

carry it over your shoulder like guys inmovies carry ammo belts across their shoulders
one way that i've heard that i like is lacing your boots with it.
