What the heck are you going to do with a multitool? There are no nuts, bolts, or screws in the wild, there is nothing to file. All you need is a knife.
1. Big knife
2. Small knife
3. Flint
I might replace the small knife with one of many firearms I would consider.
2poppa has a point a friend will be a good assistance keep you from going crazy by yourself, and would keep moral high +1 to you
so i would bring a friend a fixed blade i can put on my belt and a gun preferably a rem 870 12 guage with various loads and slugs
The hen makes eggs and the hen and rooster together can make more chickens.
Chicken and/or eggs everyday! And a pot to cook them in. ;) :D

OK, if I didn't know I'd be in a situation where I'd need ongoing chicken and eggs... A knife, a pot again, and either a lighter, fire piston, or a multitool with a saw blade (depending on if I expect rescue before a Bic lighter could give out.)
Unless you have a very good understanding of actual survival skills three items alone is goona make you hurt real bad. be prepared above all but Ill tell ya
Been there done that and on purpose too.Middle of winter colorado and I took a big slam bottle of diesel fuel a pack of double sealed bic lighters
and a papoose 22 lr with a sack of ammo.
also had three hot dogs and a candy bar but food is kinda a given- walked over 5 miles to the top of a mountain to my bocat so I could plow out the road to my camp. hell of an ordeal but it all worked out!!
If you have water, fire, shelter, and food (the last two aren't a must need but it would sure help you)then you will make it out alive! Three survival items that will help you get out alive are: Knife,(this helps you with shelter and food)some type of fire making device (fire piston or magnesium stricker),and last but most important is some type of water purifier (my favorite is an ultraviolet water purifier but you could also use water tablets or a filter)

a knife, and everything else would depend on when and where
Multi-tool(SOG), matches, tarp or space blanket. But with the technology now I suppose a GPS would be one of your greatest grabs.
definitely a knife.
definitely a knife.
A knife that never needs to be sharpened, a flint for fires, and a Will Ferrel!
a gun a knife and a good dog
Milk, Flour and a box of 22!
You give me an axe with a knife in the handle, fishing rod, and a gun and I could thrive.
Good knife with magnesium fire-starter in sheath, space blanket, and a T/C Encore with a 20gauge and a 45-70 barrel (ammo included.)
1. flint
2. knife
3. rope
Listed in order of importance
1.) Multitool
2.) Flint
3.) Tarp (for waterproof shelter)

Water perification of some sort.
knife
matches in waterproof container.
compass
Flint , Knife, 20ga shotgun with 4 case's of shells!
Ruger 10/22, multi tool, and a flint
Here in my area of Pennsylvania, I'd need:
A fishing rod
A multi-tool
A flint
I think I'd be okay with that. Could swap out the rod for a gun, but if we are talking light weight due to hiking, we'll go with the rod.
Knife, Fire Steel, and a way to get clean water (a filter or just a siera cup to boil it in)
1.)A Friend
2.)A Gun w/ammo
3.)A Knife
knife, flint, gun w/ammo
.22 rifle, lots of ammo, and a knife.
Small ax-a good method for starting fires-a metal cup.
I like 2Poppa's answer. But instead of a knife I'd want a multi-tool
Rifle,Multi Tool,Lighter
small survival kit, dog, knife, a gun w/ammo
1.A multipurpose knife,
2.A new butane lighter, and
3.A compass!!!!!!!

I can only whittle it down to four items...
One knife.
One pot.
One rooster.
One hen.
The hen makes eggs and the hen and rooster together can make more chickens.

ultimately besides my little adventure above,
Multitool
Magnesium block with striker
410/22 over-under
Multi-Tool
Magnesium fire starter.
50 yards of parachute(550) cord.
A standard issue AF parachute would be better, but the average person reading this is not likely to have access to that.

A knife, a flint striker, and cast iron cup for boiling water/cooking food.
a good knife lighter iron cup
a .22 rifle, 1 box of bullets and a knife
knife, flint, small survival kit
remington 870 12 ga with a variety of ammo
Zebco 33 with a fully rigged tackle box
a volley ball named wilson.jk and a zippo with 50 bottles of fluid.
