If a scent lock suit works as they say and eliminates sent and human odor, why do I have to scramble out of the hunting trailer everytime my brother passes gas? Odor is odor or am I missing somthing here?

I think most of the ads say "virtually eliminates odor," and the legal definition of "virtually" is "not." I'm sure saying it is all a scam is going too far, but I've had bucks approach me that I could have hit with a rock, and I've never used the fabric or sprays they sell. Holding still is more important than being scent-free, in my book.

Its impossible to remove all scent with a passive system (like your suit). Though it may be better than nothing, it won't let you get away with anything you can't do in normal hunting clothing.

Your brother is THE MAN if he's capable of chasing you out of hte trailer while wearing the suit! Have you considered wearing one as a mask? Awesome!

i'm not saying scent lok does nothing... but it doesn't seem to do much.

The stuff is mostly a gimmick, one that has convinced people to spend thousands on gear that does next to nothing.

You're not missing anything. It's a gimmick designed to scare hunters into buying more gear that they don't need. I've never used any kind of scent protection and every year I kill my deer and fill my freezer. Just tonight I shot a nice doe at about 15 yards with my bow and I wasn't wearing scent-lok clothing or any scent killing sprays. Great hunters have been playing the wind for thousands of years...there's something that can be said for that.

There is no way to hide human scent from a whitetails nose no matter what you do. Best thing is always pay attention to the wind directions. Never hunt when the prevailing wind direction is blowing toward where you expect deer to be.

It is obviously possible to kill deer in any outfit, scentlok is designed to lower the scent put off by a hunter but it can not eliminate all smells. However it is an excellent product when used properly and in conjunction with other scent blockers or cover scents. For a hunter who is targeting the incredibly savvy more mature bucks it is essential to do everything you can to try and keep from being detected.
