Video Tip: Find The Warm Water, Find the Fish
by Tim Romano
Another great tip from guide Kevin Morlock of Indigo Guide Service on how to find carp when the water temps seem a bit low in the main body of a lake. Honestly I've done very little fishing on massive bodies of water and this little tip was something I had not thought of.
While we were on Beaver Island mainly fishing for carp and smallmouth I reckon this tip would help your fly fishing with most warm water fish, from largemouth to sunfish early in the season.

What set-up did you have at the end of your line? Weighted fly or a natural fly with a weight holding it down?
buckhunter,
Floating line. 9 weight. Weighted flies.
I use to seek out the warmer water, but it always led me to a spot in front of my fly fishin buddy.
good to know. i've only managed one carp on a fly and it wasn't on purpose. kind of my luck, i guess.
