Michigan Hunter Rescued, Then Charged
By Dave Hurteau
From the Cheboygan Daily Tribune:
A lost hunter discovered that being found only added to his problems.
Howard Keshick was the subject of a search and rescue mission in late December when he became disoriented while hunting. . . . Police and a helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City battled high winds and blowing snow to find Keshick, who had his black powder long rifle with him when he was found. However, as a convicted felon, he was in violation of state law by possessing the firearm. A police report states that Keshick told authorities he didn’t think the law applied to muzzleloaders.
