Chad Love: Outdoor Tattoos for Charity
By Chad Love
So say you shot a nice buck this year, or perhaps you landed that fish of a lifetime and you want to memorialize the event for posterity? You could always have a mount done, perhaps a framed photo. Maybe even a commissioned painting, a genuine work of art.
But not for your wall. That's so...conventional. Why not take that special memory with you wherever you go with a tattoo? Win this contest from Holy Roller Tattoo and you can...
From an email:
I am the owner of HOLY ROLLER TATTOO. I have been featured in your online magazine for my wildlife tattoos. Me and my wife are going to give away a $2500.00 tattoo to whoever wins our raffle for charity. All proceeds (100% of the money) will be going to a charity that takes care of the medical needs of the people that can't afford a doctor. The tattoo will be any wildlife tattoo including fowl, big game or fishing. It will be a large piece. Like 10"x8" size (like an arm piece). We will be drawing the winning ticket on March 31. We hope to include any and all hunters and fishermen. These tickets will be $10.00 a piece and can be purchased at the shop at 2700 E Seltice way Post falls Idaho 83854, by mail, or by phone with a credit card for an additional $1.00. We hope that you can come on board with this raiseathon. Cabelas is already on board and we hope this will help the needy. Thanx and God bless.....

OK, so the obvious question is: if you won it, what would you choose? Me, I'd find some classic, Bulino-style engraved bird-hunting scene on the receiver of a fine vintage shotgun, something with a man and brace of beautiful setters. I'd have it tattooed on my upper arm and when people asked me about it I'd lie and say it depicted a common scene from my privileged upbringing on the royal shooting estate. Then when the laughter died, I'd admit I cribbed it from a picture in Double Gun Journal.
