New Jersey - Delaware River
For incredibly diverse fishing, check out New Jersey's stretch of this big river. Spring runs of shad and stripers are generally over by early summer, but the bass and walleye fishing holds up all season. Of special note is the muskie fishery from the Delaware Water Gap north to the state line at Port Jervis, N.Y., with trophy fish potentially topping 40 pounds.
