Big Game Hunting
I guess they are just stubborn, stupid or I cant figure it out..I am all for any animal that is native to America being protected an dable to expand to manageable size..not having great impact on other animals,,,How about we just wait and let the wolves alreay "planted" to expand their range...all he while practicing sound game management/conservation...after all that is what our tax dollars/ hunting fees are for right

But then tourists to Yellowstone won't be causing traffic accidents leaping out of their cars with their cameras and what would the Sierra Club put on their calendars. Wolves have become a real problem for those of us that live within a hundred miles of the zoo without walls better known as Yellowstone National Park. But, the feds will not accept Wyoming's wolf management plan because our Governor rubbed some head feds the wrong way. So while they work through their petty personality conflicts our livestock, pets and 100 elk per wolf are dying.
Dave, 100 elk per wolf..is that yearly or lifetime ..I read 23 per wolf per year, a while ago..Is that an accurat estimate i.y.o?
I am amazed at the amount of people that do not realize how far those yellowstone wolves have traveled..I know for a fact I saw 3 wolves on Ft Carson 3 yrs ago. I wouldn't have much of a problem with wolf reintroduction IF at the same time a responsible management plan was implemented...And the best management plan is hunting and reporting kills while keeping track of the population..As fast as they have pups if one year 20 to many were killed it would pose no problem to the desired numbers. I saw an old timer on Nosler tv say that in a few years the elk population around yellowstone will be endangered at this rate..I believe him
Thats 100 elk per wolf in its lifetime but then it also kills many moose calves, deer, and our sheep and cattle. A couple of popular bumper stickers out here are "Wolves, Government Sponsored Terrorism" and "Save 100 Elk, Kill a Wolf"
Sorry Hengst, I didn't realize that that tourist that caused the accident jumping out of the car with her camera in Yellowstone was on this site. I think that she just slimed us with negatives. Gotta save those wolves regardless of the impact to those of us that have to endure their predations and are helpless to do anything about it. Wonder if they would feel the same if they couldn't let their dog out for fear of it not coming back.
Funny..When expressing opinions (this time based on facts) folks won't agree..Unless they arn't chickens and voice an opinion and discuss the subject I could care less about them...You are right ..so many people are closed minded and build opinions not based on facts but propaganda..You know if little rover was ripped from the leash and tore apart in front of them they would blame the gubbment and want results
I think they are out of hand. We hardly saw any deer in Upper Michigan, not even on the 4 hour trip across the whole peninsula, NOT ONE!From our camp and back to the bridge it's 8 hours of solid driving, and we didn't see one deer anywhere near the road, not even a roadkill.
