Bass Fishing
I don't know about you, but I am extremely upset with the DNR changing regulations to three fishing poles, as opposed to two per person. Where i fish, you are lucky to get a spot, especially when there are fish around. Now that there are three poles for everyone, you have no chance to get in. I am truly upset with this rule change, and want to know what you think. Three poles too many, or is two not enough?
I very seldom use more than one pole at a time. But I am not in your state under your circumstances. I think any regulations on how many poles you have in your boat are idiotic. But, that's just me, I don't know what fishing is like where you are at, but I have had experience with northern people, for the most part they are not very friendly," just my experience." And probably don't care if you get a spot or not. Most people where I live would share a spot to fish. So, 3 poles could be a bad thing for an up north person.
I agree with this. i don't like people using more then 2 poles. It is pretty hard after cats or carp if you have like 15 poles around the area you fish. the only way i would use 3 rods would probubly be for ice fishing. 2 tip ups and a gill rod. thats the only way.
It is interesting to see how the DNR came up with this change to the regs? As mentioned here, I would guess icy fishing or off a boat? I don't normally fish with more then two poles either; One with live bait, while casting a lure with the 2nd one.
Maybe it's to avoid them getting bothersome calls as well!!??
I would agree, two is enough. Having lived in Michigan most of my life and being a true Yooper, I have never needed more than two poles at a time. Other than ice fishing, this seems a little extreem and ridiculous in the usual way of the DNR.
How come you care how many rods other people use? What's wrong with three poles? I NY you can only use two , but who realy cares. Now you can use three too,it might help you get more fish.
in missouri you can only use one but i never use more than one any way
correction where i fish i can only have one line in the water
Where I fish you are allowed 2, but if you tag each pole with you're name it can be 50 (Dnr even said it.)
