Big Game Hunting
A buddy of mine and I have been talking about trying to go on our own guided wolf hunt in Minnesota this fall. We've found a few large WMAs that have a wolf population in them. (we found this out by looking at a population density map and where known sightings and collared packs are at.) We have both hunted coyotes for years but afraid that we dont know a lot about wolves. Sense the season is open during deer season as well we figured we would try for both. I was thinking of a strategy using the deer season as an advantage. Would a wolf be interested in an estrous call or fawn bleat during rut? Or should we just stick to a predator call system. We have never been to the area but Looking at area maps and what not we should know a lay of the land but no on the ground scouting sense we are in South Dakota and the location is 7 1/2 hours away.
