Buck Fever in the Classroom
Uploaded on November 09, 2009For all the college students looking forward to hunting season...
I currently go to school at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and I am from Michigan and hunt in Michigan. Well the rifle season opener is November 15th, and guess what...I'm going to miss it. I have missed all of bow season, and I dont get to hunt until November 21st when i come home for thanksgiving. So i have had my count down until i get home for a couple weeks now and it has finally turned into days. Well, i have found it hard to get any kind of homework done (i blame it on this site) because all i can think about is hunting, hunting, and more hunting, and spend most of my free time on this site. And being a civil engineering major this is pretty rough. but i guess im still doing my work, just thinking about hunting while im doing it.
So any other college guys out there having the same problem as me?
Buck fever in the woods...ha! try it in the classroom, its way worse.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm always plotting new ways to hunt my woods. I am from SC and have a few buddies that go to the Citadel too.
ive been reading field and stream and deer and deer hunting magazine in my colleges library during lunch every day.
I hunt in MI too... However, I get to hunt every weekend, but I still do the same thing. I can't wait for thursday to be over, so I can hunt til' monday morning every week. Good luck when you get in the woods finally. Where I hunt we are all shotguns, should be a good opener if the rain holds off.
i'm feelin yah... i sit through my classics class, dodging the professor and posting on the site... however, i started working at a new place and my hours have roughly doubled ontop of a full college schedule. ive already decided i'm skipping spanish for opening day of shotgun season:)
WoW that is exactly how I feel I cant focus on anything (but hunting). It almost seems like the rut is affecting me more then the bucks. Cant wait to get out for the gun opener. Good luck to you.
I know how you feel when im not in class ive been out of state on bussiness i hav only been bow hunting 5 days this season i am hoping to go on the indiana gun opener the 14th but i hav to work looks like im going home at lunch sick... (cough cough)
I remember those days....I think those days are what pushed me to become a career firefighter that works 24hr shifts. I only work once every 4 days.
The same goes for me. I am ALWAYS thinking about hunting whitetails and patterning them. It's impossible to stop thinking about it.
I withdrew from college this semester because I was missing too much class due to.... You guessed it, bow season.
Ya i just missed the Michigan rifle opener, but my flight lands friday night, and ill be in the woods on saturday until thanksgiving!
here i sit, once again in classics 222 at the great ohio state university... posting on field and stream instead of taking notes. when is my spanish final? 9 am opening day of gun season in ohio...
