Pentax Binoculars. . . . have you ever tried them?

Uploaded on November 04, 2009

I always used the more popular hunting brands when I bought binoculars, Bushnell & Tasco for cheaper sets and Leupold & Brunton for more expensive optics. Well a couple of years ago my dad was given a set of Baush & Lomb 10x42 binoculars as a gift. I thought they blew away my $350 Leupolds and $800 Bruntons. So now I am in the market for a new set. . . and considering trying more of a lens manufacture instead of a hunting manufacture. Has anyone ever tried Pentax binoculars or any other lens/camera companies binoculars. . . and if so what are your thoughts? Thanks

I have never owned a set of Pentax binoculars; however, I would not hesistate to purchase a pair. For 16 years, I owned and operated a successful wedding and portrait professional photography business. I owned several 35 mm Pentax cameras and lenses throughout the years. They had excellent optics. I am totally confident that a pair of Pentax binoculars would serve you well!

I had a really good pair of Pentax 10x42's. Some how they got dust inside of them and it made everything dull and cloudy looking. I sent them back to Pentax and they charged me $120 to clean them. Everything was great for about two months. All of the sudden everything began to appear upside down. Talked to Pentax for an estimate on repair and they said it would be another $120-150 to repair them. repair bills were just to much so I bought a new pair of Leupold's. The pentax was great for a while I just feel like customer service left a lot to be desired.
