Deer Hunting
Sunday evening marked the end of the Ohio archery season and the thought of not being able to bow hunt leaves an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. I'm addicted to bow hunting and there is no cure. Smokers have the patch, alcoholics have support groups and crack heads have, well, more crack. I had a blessed season. I couldn't ask for more. In fact, as the light was fading on the final day of the season and astonishing 21 deer walked passed my stand as to say goodbye to me. (20 walked away) At the office today when the clock struck 3pm my body wanted to race out to door and to the farm. My mind and the regulations said otherwise. My bow still sits by the back door screaming my name wanting to go out and play. I'm lost. Every year it's like being buried alive with no way out until next fall. Do I have a problem? Please let me know I'm not alone.
Yes you do have a problem! haha I have started to shoot at local clubs to get my "fix" in the off season plus the extra time and practice shooting my bow doesnt hurt when it come to prepping for next year.
You don't have any more problem than the rest of us. I agree with gossy though hit the local range to get ready for next year. You could even pick up shooting in 3D shoots if you want something to work towards.
You could start varmint hunting with a bow….very challenging.
I know that feeling. Give bowfishing a try, that seemed to help me a little bit.
