Q:
I shot 2 does this morning around 9 o clock, but it was rather unusual that i shot the doe in front. I stopped her at 35 yards and hit her back towards the liver. She turned went 5 yards and bedded down. Then I looked up and saw the bigger do that was with her making a circle to my stand. She was quartered to me just slightly and she did not see me draw, but when i hit my release she turned towards me just a little more and the arrow entered through her front shoulder. As she was running away i saw the arrow sticking out 12 inches on the other side and thought she would run a while and expire. I followed blood for a while and then lost it. I didnt find her and thought this was rather unusual. Note: the first one i shot the arrow passed all the way through and i waited about a half an hour before trailing. Any input to what might have happened?

Deer are tough critters. A quartering towards you shot is a tough shot.

If you didnt find the arrow while tracking her more and likely she still has it in her and her blood has clotted up so she quites bleeding until she gets that arrow out of her. It happend to me last year.

when you hit a deer in the front the chances of you finding that deer are pretty slim. i did that on a buck last year and i never found him. later on that year i caught him on trail camera with a scar on the soldier that i shot him on. weird hugh?
