1871 Club

We offer three different 1871 Club plans. Two subscriptions (Print & Premium Plans) and one [Free] Rewards Plan.

For 1871 Club Print & Premium Memberships: Field & Stream Journals are published twice a year — a Spring issue in April and a Fall issue in September— alongside each journal shipment are two Members-Only Hats for Premium members.

Your first issue depends on when you sign up and where that date falls within our bi-annual publishing schedule. For a limited time, NEW Print & Premium members get a bonus gift upon sign up.

New Members: Get 3 Shipments in Your First Year

If you join between January 1 – March 31

• 1st Shipment = Bonus Shipment: Sent immediately

Renewing Members: Receive 2 Shipments Per Year.

Renewing members always receive the standard Spring and Fall issues. Your shipment timing is based on your renewal date:

If you renew between January 1 – March 31

• 1st Shipment = Spring Issue (+ hat for Premium): Ships April 1

• 2nd Shipment = Fall Issue (+ hat for Premium): Ships September 1

If you renew between April 1 – August 31

• 1st Shipment = Fall Issue (+ hat for Premium): Ships September 1

• 2nd Shipment = Spring Issue (+ hat for Premium): Ships the following April 1

If you renew between September 1 – December 31

• 1st Shipment = Spring Issue (+ hat for Premium): Ships the following April 1

• 2nd Shipment = Fall Issue (+ hat for Premium): Ships the following September 1

Join the 1871 Club to get a subscription to the Field & Stream print journal at a discounted $15 member price, or purchase a single issue of the journal online or at select retail stores for $20.  

All Members of the 1871 Club will also receive a $15 merch store reward, partner perks, access to the Member store, and a digital version of the journal 2x a year. Premium members will receive a members-only hat 2x a year delivered with their journal.

*Please note, only the Premium Members ($95/year) and Print Members ($35/year) plans within the 1871 Club program will receive a print journal twice a year.  

Yes, a Gift Card is the ONLY WAY to gift a Field & Stream membership. This ensures the recipient can activate their own account and receive their Journal subscription, since each membership requires a unique email. Only one membership can be under one email.

Important Notes: 

• Each membership must be linked to a unique email address.  If you buy two memberships under the same email, the second purchase will reset the subscription start date. 

• Buying for yourself?  Click "Join Print" or "Join Premium" on the Membership homepage and complete the sign-up form. 

• Gifting someone else?  Purchase a Gift Card and enter the recipient’s name and email during checkout.

All membership payments are billed annually, but you can cancel at any time by logging into your 1871 Club account. Access my account (user icon), go to membership plan, and click cancel membership. Changes are effective immediately.  

Your membership is billed annually and will automatically renew each year.  To update your renewal preferences, upgrade, or cancel your membership, simply log into your Account Profile and manage your settings under the ‘Membership’ section.
