Yes, I call a little after sun up, I dont call during twilight. I grunt call or bleat every 20-30 mins, Deer or no deer. I want to pull in distant deer that otherwise may pass out of sight. When I grunt call i dotn grunt softly, I want to be heard. I may grunt 2-3 times then throw in a doe bleat afterwards.

I usually do about every 30 mins. keep in mind that it won't work unless deer can hear it, if there are no deer in the area, don't expect much. a lot of people get disgusted when they don't work, but if you hunt where there are no deer, they obviously won't work.

A grunt every 20-30 minutes keeps your mind occupied enough to stay in the stand. Heck, sometimes it actually calls in deer! No amount of calling will do any good if you choose a poor stand location and do not have deer patterned well, so do your homework.
