although our bushytails have a keen sense of smell, they do not seem to use it except to find food. Don't worry about your scent.

Scent blocker is not needed when squirrel hunting; what you do need is a way to slip through the woods as quietly as possible, the best advice I can give you is walk slowly and watch your step.

Dont worry about scent with them. What I would do is tell them your deer hunting and they dont need to worry. You will get plenty of them coming around then! At least thats what usually happens.LOL. Seriously like streack said you have to slip in and around the woods. They can be elusive if they feel threatened. Thats prob why so many come out when we deer hunt they realize they arent on th elist for the day. Look for a bunch of oak trees and they will be close by! They almost always travel in pairs too. If you get one look for the other one to follow!

No scent killer required! I like to walk alittle ways (nice and slow and quiet tennis shoes are great i dont recomend boots you can feel twings so you can not let them snap) if i come across a bunch of acorns or other nuts i back off and sit against a nice tree and watch a while (10-15 minutes) if you scared any squirrels off they might just forget about you and if you shoot one and they run sit tight more just might come back! have fun!

Nope.... No scent eliminators needed just relax and enjoy the hunt. Walk keep your eyes on the canopy (tree tops) and the trunks. Keep your ears open too and you'll have a great hunt. Good luck.

Ditto on the scent concern. You might want to invest in and learn to use a Stanley Scrugss bellows type call, just don't drive your parents nuts with it like I have my wife. Learn all you can from Brer' Bushytail, there is no better teacher of woodcraft, stalking, camo, sitting still, and marksmanship in preparation for bigger game. I would also remind you to never let yourself get so infatuated with bigger, grander, more glamerous game that you forget the squirrels, there is no finer time than daylight in the hardwoods with family and a good .22. Good hunting.

Jr. I love your enthusiasm towards the outdoors and small game hunting. I have never had an issue with scent when bowhunting and squirrels where in my actual stand and tree. I would not worry about scent blocking and focus on shot selection and enjoyment. keep posting
