hi guys as many of you know i am stationed 3000 miles from home,my folks were telling me back home there is a new gang that paints there faces like clowns and beat people to death, my parents are not fond of firearms,my dad used to hunt,and my mother used to tech hunter safety but they just arent into guns like us,but today they asked me to send them money for a shotgun, they want something i can use for hunting on leave,but will be good for defense, i cant afford much so im asking if any of ya know of something that fits the bill any suggestions?

mossberg 500 combo around $300. or a remington 870 also around $300. i like the mossberg that is what is setting beside my bed.

Kolbster has it right. Those two models are right at the top of my list for economy grade shotguns. Flip a coin. You can't go wrong.

good choice, you might look at the mossberg 590 its still a pump, but its built to military specs.

thanks for your sevice for the military it takes alot of guts to risk your life for this country and you sure do have the guts. ii would go with the mossberg 590 military specs

I hope classes are going well for you.
As far as the shotgun recommendation, I'd agree to the Mossberg 500 or suggest the Rem 870 with 18.5 or 20-inch cylinder bore barrel. Both will serve the purpose well, and you purchase accessory barrels for both that'll optimize their versatility. I hope your folks never have to rely on it, but there's a lot of evil out there. I would get a Benelli Vinci. It will kill anybody at close range with birdshot. And yet it is a high-grade shotgun that you can hunt with.

hello, I keep a remington 1100, 12 ga. 18 1/2" barrell, only holds 5 shells, 00 buck, make me feel safer at night. Old sailor,thanks for your service,
