A 39-year-old Fort Pierce man accused of hurling a fish from the North Bridge and allegedly hitting a boater on the head, faces felony and misdemeanor charges, according to an arrest affidavit from the Fort Pierce Police Department.

Richard Hughes Corley. . . was fishing on the North Bridge late Saturday and . . . asked a man to move his boat. . . .

I think that both people are to blame in this mess. Both could have moved and been alittle more understanding.

Each could have given a little, but they guy that threw the fish from a bridge could have caused serious injury to the other person.

It was something stupid to do, but he may be facing some stiff penalties for an act of stupidity.

Being from Florida, this is totally believable. People get PISSED if you interfere or even get in proximity to their fishing grounds. Usually its not a fish though... what fisherman would throw away his catch?

I've been that frustrated at a boat launch before... but I wouldn't throw a fish at him. You see alot of rude people cutting in line waiting to go out or come in. I have also seen a few choice explatives thrown back and forth before too. People just need to relax and show a little respect and courtesy.

Who was fishing the spot first? Maybe the man on the bridge had reason to be upset after all he is confined to bank, or in this case bridge, fishing and the man in the boat had the whole lake. I was fishing a bass tournament on ky. lake with a man when he pulled up to a riprap point were a bank fisherman was fishing and started casting away. I sat in the back of the boat amazed at his lack of ethics, after all, we had the whole lake!
