102-Pound Blue Cat Should Break Virginia State Record
From The Virginia-Pilot:
Virginia’s first triple-digit freshwater fish has been caught. Tim Wilson of Natural Bridge landed the historic 102-pound, 4-ounce blue catfish while working the waters of the James River near Dutch Gap.
Wilson's fish is being considered for state-record status by a committee of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.
The big blue easily tops the current state-record blue of 95-11, caught in 2006 in the James River by Archie Gold of Jetersville.

This number will continue to go up and up. The James River is a tremendous blue cat fishery. I know F&S did a great piece on it two months ago or so.
Nice fish. What was he using for bait/rod and reel set-up ?
That big of a catfish and he wasn't noodling? That is pretty crazy... he must of been sore after that fight.
It would have been neeter if it was caught by a "noodler."
lol.you would need like 4 people to noodle that thing:)
