In an attempted concession to the sizable number of archers who registered their opposition to the move, commissioners amended the original plan to ban magnifying, telescopic sights from the crossbows and set a sunset date that would remove legalization of crossbows on June 30, 2012, unless future commissioners reauthorize their use.
