Discussion Topic: Another Reason To Pull For The Bass Pro Car?
By Dave Hurteau
From ESPN:
The National Wild Turkey Federation's flying turkey logo will appear on the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, Bass Pro Shops sponsored #1 race car, driven by current Nextel and 2-time Busch Series Champion Martin Truex Jr. . . .
Bass Pro Shops salute to the NWTF is a part of the Conservation Fund's "Racing for America's Wildlife" program. The program is designed to engage the NASCAR community in conserving America's hunting and fishing heritage through habitat protection, restoration, education, and outreach.
"We are very proud to partner with the NWTF and their work in conservation, helping special needs hunters, getting women involved in the outdoors, and youth education," said Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris.
Does this make you more likely to pull for Truex Jr. and the Bass Pro car?

Sure. I already liked Martin Truex Jr. anyway.
My question is, is it really neccessary to give the whole conservation riff to a type of activity that uses of huge amounts of fuel and gives off so many emissions that get the liberals going?
Nate
Nope, I'm a Cabelas guy myself and since they sponsor the Iditarod instead of stock car racing I stick with the drives I and the kids like and watch the dogs.
TRUEX JR. was already my favorite so this is just somthing new I learned. And I dont know what this topic has to do with Cabelas, considering Cabelas doesnt have a car in NASCAR, but I like both shops haha
No matter who you want to see win the race, its good to see that Bass Pro and the NWTF are using NASCAR as an avenue to gain some money for conservation. Everyone knows that stock car racing has an insane number of fans, lots of which are involves in the outdoors in some way. I look at this as a great way for the NWTF to gain even more attention and possible funding for continued conservation.
This is even better than the Earnhardt signature Remingtons.
Theres no better way to promote BPS, The number one sport of america, AND... Is basically watched by sums of millions and katrillions of avid and serious fishermen and hunters alike... To the weekend warriors to the " die-hard, Take two weeks off from work just for opening week of archery." Its a great sport and #1 is the man... But Matt Kenseth has deffinatly made a statment these past two races... Crazy!
