Oklahoma Bear Hunt Goes To Governor
By Dave Hurteau
From NewsOK.com:
A measure to legalize black bear hunting in parts of southeast Oklahoma moved a step closer to law on Monday.
The Senate voted 37-9 in favor of House Bill 1464, which would create a hunting season for black bears. The measure now goes to Gov. Brad Henry for consideration.

Good to hear that they would allow black bear huting in another state... hopefully it passes.
Hunting is alot better option for keeping the bear population in check. It gives hunters another choice in animal to hunt and helps the states DNR financially. As opposed to paying a company thousands of dollars to tranquilize and relocate the bears. Not to mention keeping property damage to a minimum when drought years force bears into neighborhoods looking for food.
If it passes the Govornors desk, maybe he can call Gov. Corzine in Jersey.
