JasmineTC,
You truly heartless, blight upon the hunting comunity person. You should be ashamed of yourself, what if it was your child and someone comes along and says "no pity for the parents." You make me sick, to even be associated with your kind sheds a bad light on anyone who calls themselves an outdoorsman. You should apologize

What a sad loss. I join those who offer their condolences to the Corcoran family, and their condemnation of JasmineTC's comments. How can any civilized person feel anything but sadness at the death of an 11-year old boy?

I've been reading this site for a few years, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to post. Do others think this thread would be an appropriate thread to discuss lessons that could be learned from this?

You see why they want to "recuit" young children even children as young as 6!

Finding #4: Without Changes, The Future of Hunting is Bleak
Unless changes are made to address poor
hunting replacement numbers, the future of
hunting, conservation and the shooting sports
industry is in jeopardy.
Hunter Numbers
The overall hunter population peaked in the
mid 1980s with 16.8 million in 1985. By 2001,
hunter populations had dropped 23 percent.
By 2025 numbers are expected to drop
another 24 percent to 9.9 million.

Then they try to tell you how "safe" hunting is to children. They keep mentioning that in other sports like basketball, baseball etc there are more "injuries" but we are not talking about minor "injuries" from other sports (real sports) we are talking about serious injuries and death.

Just read how pathetic the hunting industy with all that lies of "safe safe safe" when they know damn well its dangerous.
http://www.nwtf.org/images/Youth_Hunting_Report.pdf

Young kids are using weapons meant for killing and if adult hunters die from hunting accident how do you suppose that children are any safer?. There was another 11 year old in July

11-Year-Old Boy Dies in Hunting Accident
7/10/2009

ABBEVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- An 11-year-old South Carolina boy has died after his rifle accidentally fired as he climbed down from a hunting stand.

Multiple media outlets reported that John Michael Evans of Abbeville died about an hour after he was struck in the head shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Abbeville County Coroner Ronnie Ashley says the boy was in a deer stand in a tree with a friend when he started climbing down and dropped his .22-caliber rifle and it fired.

Ashley says no autopsy is planned. The coroner and sheriff's deputies are investigating.

Listen to the guy on this video he says "you have to treat a loaded gun like a deadly snake" "even experience hunters have to be careful"

Yet these recruiters of children to kill keep saying "safe , safe, safe" . How desperate can you be?

These animals have as much right to live a full life like you and I would like to. A fawn or yearling would like to live to be adult and die a natural death. Jasminetc,
You are truly pathetic, go rejoin your other PETA friends, what right do you have to call them "your deer"? Do you know what happens to the deer herds when you don't hunt them? They begin to starve themselves out, become diseased, cause catastrophic damages to crops (far more than they do already) and are responsible for a huge number of deaths and crashes on the public road. You people have no knowledge about wildlife whatsoever, your all the some global warming, Bush hating, left wing wacko crowd that put Obama in the white house. Letting kids ride bikes and atvs are more deadly than hunting of any kind.

Our thoughts and prayers to those involved in this tragic accident. And to jasminetc more people are killed on purpose than those killed in hunting and fishing accidents. And hunting and fishing has been going on since the beginning of mankind those who oppose are not criticized, nor harassed by ethical sportsman. And those deer that were killed were all eaten so none went to waste

Just look at the hunting accident lists

Sorry I have no sypathy nor compassion for those who never had compassion when they were destroying of an innocent sentient being. These animals have as much right to live a full life like you and I would like to. A fawn or yearling would like to live to be adult and die a natural death. Sorry I have no sympathy especially aat this time of the year when I most likely will never see some my deer again because wildlife killer decided they want to end his/her life.
