Wounded Bear Hospitalizes 83-Year-Old California Hunter
From the Appeal Democrat:
A . . . bear turned the tables Monday on an 83-year-old hunting party member in the Tahoe National Forest near Camptonville, severely mauling the man's arm and shoulder, authorities said. . . .
The victim, Orval Sanders . . . and six other men were hunting with dogs near Alleghany in Sierra County when they treed three bears. One of three bears came down from the tree after being shot and attacked Sanders. . . .
Another member of the party shot the bear in the head, killing it, he said.

Orval Sanders...whata name for an 83 Year old!-sad story all I can say is hunting bears is no joke they are some tough creatures and can take multiple shots-glad his friend was there to kill it and hope Orval recovers and gets eat some of that bear
Well that puts the fun in Califunia.
How much longer are we going to tolerate these viscious animals in our forests? I say to hell with the Peta wackos, lets exterminate the bears, wolves and cougars, and develop these wild hinterlands so it is safe for the elderly and our children. I'm sure we'll find some oil there too, which will make America safer and drive down the prices at the pump.
