It’s time to announce the winner of the “What Pritch Did on Summer Vacation” caption contest. As usual, we had a load of entries. Many of them were top notch. Before I announce the winner I’d like to thank our friends at Skyhorse Publishing for donating the prize: a copy of the new book, Afield: American Writers on Bird Dogs. Now, let’s get to the fun stuff. As usual, perennial caption all-star, MLH, had a good one:
Pritch demonstrates perfect form for pointing clams.

SD_Whitetail_Hunter took a mild shot at poodles for his popular caption:
I'm on VACATION!!! And moderation is for POODLES!!

And rootju put a clever twist on a common saying for some fun:
A drinking dog with a slight bird problem…

Sgaredneck got creative with another common expression:
Well, I guess it's hair of the human for me....

The honorable mention award went to tshrefler for this classic:
Ahhh...the dog days of summer.

But in the end, mountaindew732 took home top prize with this laugher:
Beer and a nap? I wonder who she picked that up from?
