Yank That Starter Cord Like You've Never Yanked It Before!

By Joe Cermele

I've kinda been here. I've kinda done this. You're on some rental boat or a friend's grandpa's junker with the circa 1972 9.9 horsepower and a storm blows up or you're drifting into shallow water that'll ground you. Or maybe there's some nasty fast water downstream you really don't want to get swept into. You pray and rip that starter cord with all you've got, but she just won't fire up. I have never, however, been in this situation when a wave capable of destroying the boat was bearing down.

the guy who jumped into the wave was actually smart to do that

the other two guys got slammed by the upside-down boat - lucky they didn't konk their heads and get knocked out

I'd wait a bit to open the beer from that cooler.

Usually, mine floods just when the dam is around the next bend.
