As a longtime Hoosier resident (and deer hunter) I know many hunters who are a bit "unsure" of the numbers the state has presented for the season.

EHD has claimed quite a few deer in the southern portion of the state and this years gun opener was cold, rainy and nasty. I have spoked w/dozens of hunters and read many posts on the boards around the 'net and most people complained about the lack of deer sightings and what a bad season it was.

With the state pushing a new doubling of doe permits in the 30 counties w/the highest deer/car accident rates (hb 1585) many Hoosier hunters are a bit worried about the future of hunting in Indiana and I've already heard grumblings about the state pushing a high harvest rate to justify the higher permit numbers in this bill.
