Cabelas is actually how it's spelt.

Actually, you're both incorrect. It is "Cabela's": possessive; as in belonging to the Cabela family.

L.L. Bean? I'm not looking for slacks, I'm looking for hunting/fishing equipment.

L.L.Bean is a tremendous store and used to cater to hunters, but now they are primarily a store for the back packer, camper, skier, yuppie style stuff. They still have good gear but certainly not the hunting store that Leonard had in mind. One of the things that I like about Bean over Cabela's is that Bean carries more American made merchandise.

Cabelas coming around with stores is sort of bad news, if it is your state your online purchases will start to have sales tax! OF COURSE I pay that sales tax anyway when I do my tax returns [hey, how come my nose is so long all of a sudden?] but others that do at least get to delay when they pay it. ~~~~ it's all about the ability of the state to enforce their tax laws, if you have a store in the state they coerce you into *collecting* those taxes upon purchase and can come and padlock your doors shut if you don't.

Cabela's may be the best store ever created, except the for the fact that there are very few of them. It's good to see that another one is opening.
