Like or dislike his TV show Tred Barta has done a lot for the world of hunting and fishing including great charity events. On May 19 he suffered a spinal stroke according to this article(http://www.sportfishingmag.com/news/news/rare-disorder-leaves-tred-barta...) and is paralyzed from the chest down.
DA*#, I got to meet him one time at a Bass Pro Shop Fall expo.
I'm sorry to hear this.
I actually like his show, and this is very sad for me.
Nate
I posted this info into other places so we can all send our prayers.

I hate to hear this!
It's going to be hard to keep this man still ...
I really never heard of having to worry about strokes in high altitude, but listening to the interview, seems like that might be what did in Barta.
I suspect we'll see some hunting from wheelchair TV from him now.
Wow, that is the most unsuspecting and tragic thing I've heard in a while. I used to watch his show all the time, I just can't believe that this actually happened...Everyone,
give him your prayers.
I just listened to the interview and wow, I really hope he gets well and I hope to see him using a crossbow from his wheelchair to take a bear down...Pray for him everyone.
THATS REALLY SHOCKING NEWS!!I ENJOY HIS SHOWS,HES SUCH A POSITIVE FORCE IN THE OUTDOOR WORLD.ID BET HE WILL NOT LET THIS SET HIM BACK. " GODBLESS AND BEST WISHES" MR BARTA.
Are there any new reports on his condition? I hope he can get back to the show!
I'm so sorry to hear this because he's a hell of an outdoors men.I know he's a little loud at times but who isn't at times right :) :)

Im sorry to here of this. My husband also had the same thing happen to him 11 years ago and could not walk. The Doctors told him he may never walking again. He would not take that and In 7 months he started to get most of the feeling back and by a year he was walking. So dont give up and good luck. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you.
