No more Last Laugh

Uploaded on February 26, 2009

I was in the airport four days ago and picked up a outdoor life mag. I was astonished to see Last Laugh in their, when I was younger this use to be my faviorite article! I stole many of my grandpas f&s mags just for this article. The good Lord shined down on me when i picked up the outdoor life. Or so i thought until i read the bottom of the article saying Mr. Mcmanus wont be writing as often as he does. So I just wanted to thank him for all his great articles, and see if he wouldnt mind staying around another fourty years, or atleast until my kids are grown!

It is a shame that Pat wont be writing any more. Looks like its time to start buying his books while we still can!!

Maybe he can convince Retch Sweeney to take up the pen.

I troo was saddeneed to hear that Pat was hanging it up I always read LL first and I have been getting OL and F&S for almost 20 years. But at least I have several of his books. Still if you think about it why is he so great? because we all have friends like Retch Sweeney and Crazy Eddie Mulldoon and personally when I was a kid we had a Sneed in our county LOL

I have gotten a lot of enjoyment from his work over the years.

I think it's time to buy all his books and make sure I have his work for all time.

Bill Heavey said it best...( I paraphrase since my memory allows nothing specific) 'I sat next to McManus at a sport show all day long people came and had their [McManus] books autographed by the master. They treated him like a superstar. I was there to hand out his books.'
