Where I live, large mouth are not native, so there aren't a lot of waters where they turn into monsters. My biggest weighed in at a little over five pounds.
However, there is an old boy that hangs out under the dock at a local lake that looks 10- 12 pounds. This summer, i have his number.
8 pounds and 3 ounces caught on a fly, the Gullys little spooky.
7 pounds caught on a Rat-L-Trap. Caught it when I was 15.
9lbs and 14oz caught on a denny braur rattleback jig with a craw trailer. Just missed my goal of 10lbs, but I will keep chasing the dream.
7 pounder with a zoom fluke
8lbs. 13 oz. on a fluke. The next summer, my sister beat me with a 8lb. 15oz. bass on a Mann's Baby 1-
I forget the exact weight....i have it written down at home, but it was in the 5 pound range. Not bad for a largemouth in new england. Got it on a white frog soft plastic.
the biggest one i have ever caught is about 8 pounds.
5 pounds 6 ounces, caught on a top water frog late last summer on a small pond.
seven pounds even out of a small lake in Girard IL. red shad lizzard
12lb bass on a spinnerbait. I'm not telling you guys the details though. It's an old family secret.
On June 6,1994 I caught an 18 lb 11 ounce bass at a near by impoundment about 3 weeks later on June 30, 1994 on a near by river I caught an 18 lb 3 ounce bass, both on 12 inch black culprit worms buzzed across heavy pads and grass.Through 2001 I caught and released 622 bass over 10 lbs.I haven't been able to fish these last 9 years but I'm looking foreward to starting back real soon.
My biggest Bass was 11LBS 5 oz, came on a largetopwater torpedo bait on Lake Okeechobee, I have caught several in the 8 to 11lb range and I relased all on that lake over the past 20 years I just can't break the 12lb mark.
my biggest was almost 4 pounds on a tiny torpedo
On August 17, 2011, I caught a 7lb4oz. largemouth from a pond I ran up on and that very, very few people know about. Of course I mounted it because it was the biggest largemouth, by far, I'd ever landed! Well today, October 11, 2011, I hooked into one that pushed the 10lb mark and maybe even 11lb from the very same pond! I saw half the fish just before it threw my jig over my head because I forgot to check and adjust my drag like a fisherman is supposed to! I hooked both fish on a 1/2oz. black/blue jig with a black/blue Uncle Josh's pork trailer. I would've never have kept, and mounted, the 7 pounder if I'd known there were other 'HAWG'S' in there, because I'll definitely mount an 11 pounder lol! This bother's me because I always practice catch and release! ALWAYS!!!! This pond is in southeastern Kentucky and is around an acre! What make's this so odd is that it's only around 4 feet deep at it's deepest point! I would never have thought a largemouth could grow so large in such small surroundings, especially in a small pond! Anyone know?!?! I'm curious if anyone can email me at - kevinmedlock88@gmail.com!
6lbs 15oz 1980 on a tiny green beetle spin bout three feet from the boat
