Fly Fishing
My buddies and I are looking to go on a fly fishing trip over spring break this year. We want to go somewhere up in the mountains and have to backpack up to our campsite which will hopefully be located along some pretty good trout streams. We are from down in West Texas so anything with elevation change is quite a way from us but we are looking to make a good backpacking, camping, fly fishing trip combo. We will be making this trip in March so we might have to resort to places where any snow would be melted by then. Anyone have any suggestions for locations?
Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I went there 3 times this year with my friends. There are plenty of campsites and the fishing is awesome.
I agree, Great Smokies is exactly what you are looking for. PLUS, if you feel the need to whoop it up ala spring break style, Gatlinburg is a cool little town. Smoky Mountain Fly Shop will have everything you need over in Cherokee.
Ditto on the Smokies.
