Shark stories anyone?

Uploaded on January 15, 2009

Hey anyone got a neat shark tale to to tell us about? One time i was shore fishing and started casting some squid out next to an eddy by some rocks and hooked into a 3 foot leopard shark. He was a beast! fun to catch though. By the way this was in southern california.

I once hooked about a 300-pound thresher while striper fishing. The threshers come in and eat menhaden the same time of year as the bass. We were picking up stripers here and there, then all of a sudden they disappeared, which is a sure sign a shark just moved in. Sure enough I hooked one and wrapped the tail, so it just came in real easy right to the boat like dead weight. I caught one glimpse of it, the shark saw the boat and realized what was going on and in one fraction of a second, bolted and cut the line like it was dental floss.

Hey just an FYI, put shark posts on our Tide Lines board next time. That forum is devoted to saltwater!!
