St. Croix Premier one piece 6-6 medium, mated with a Shimano Sahara reel, and 8lb test Fireline Crystal. It is a great walleye rod.

Idon't have a favorite brand, as such, but you can't go wrong with the Ugly stick, but I also like Fenwick, Shamono, Gander Mtn brand(made by Garcia I believe?)and Garcia...most of my rods are in the 6' to 6'6", Medium action design.

Fenwick HMG 7.5' medium light rod, with the abu garcia cardinal spinning reel. It makes any fish feel huge!

mine's some offbrand I got for $10 at Cabela's. It hasn't broken, and its action is fine, so I figure none of the fish know the difference. And sometimes I use a cane pole, if I'm lazy or hungry.
