Whats the best diaphram call?

Uploaded on March 08, 2009

Im looking to buy a new diaphram call for this spring's turkey hunt. I was wondering the pro's and con's of different brands and reed types. Also which would you recommend?

I really like the Mad series it took some getting used to but after awile I got the hang of it. They are color coded for the different reeds.

HS Strut has an excellent line of mouth calls. Another company to check out is Tom Teasers Calls: http://www.tomteasers.com/

You should also check out Woodhaven Custom Calls. They are by far the best mouth calls I have used. BTW my personal favorite is the Woodhaven Stinger.

I've used a lot of different calls and would have to say the MAD series is the best. But I can't say that they are that much different from HS Strut or Knight and Hales.

I prefer Down-N-Dirty custom calls. They for me are a somewhat local company making calls that fuel their addiction to this sport. Check em out at www.downdirtyoutdoors.com oh they are based out of west kentucky

Start w/a 2 reed. They are the easiest to learn on. 3 and 4 reeds are good, but for a beginner, a 2 reed is best. Your brand is your preference.
