Making waterproof matches

Uploaded on April 21, 2009

Tired of wasting money on waterproof cantainers to put matches in? Take a candle, light it and dip the match head in the wax. The wax makes it waterproof. When you're ready to use the matches you just peel the wax off.

I've done this, it works. You don't even have to peel the wax off, just strike it on the side of the box and it should still light. Just be careful when your are dipping the matches not to get too close to the flame, you'll just end up wasting matches.

That's probably the quickest way to make waterproof matches!
Another way is to dip the whole match in clear nail polish.

you need to dip the whole match in the wax because water will soak in the wood and get to the head of the match and it will still be worthless
