Q:This is likely a lost cause, but everywhere I have to train my dog the water is literally infested with alligators. Any tips? And don't say shoot them. I used to wear them out, and it never effected the number I saw. Plus the fine for that is more than I can afford, and the things are too tough to clean to make eating them worthwhile. I understand why they are protected, taking so long to reach maturity and all. But they are EVERYWHERE.

Q:First the info: My old dog is getting into the twilight of her life, so to speak. I'm thinking it's time to get a dog that can be training to hunt birds. Mostly upland game birds is what i'm after, though waterfowl does interest me i've just never done it. So i have three questions, one: can i train a dog to both flush and retrieve upland birds and water fowl? two: what breed do you suggest? three: any suggestions on resources on how to train said dog?

Q:okay, during the last few days of woodcock season I shot one and saw it fall. I approached it and it was still flapping it's wing. I just hit it in the wing. I wanted to shoot it point blank or break it's neck to stop it's suffering but i just couldn't do it. i stuffed it in my pocket and ran home. I set it in a box with some game bird feed and a chicken feeder. I came back 2 minutes later and he was dead. What do i do?
