Amanda Oliver

Executive Editor of Commerce

Amanda Oliver is Field & Stream‘s executive editor of commerce. She oversees the commerce team, who covers everything from bowhunting to fishing to camping. Amanda currently lives in northern Maryland with her husband, daughter, and German shepherd, Lily.

Highlights

  • Covers primarily bowhunting and waterfowl hunting
  • Has hiked at almost every National Park in the U.S.

Experience

Amanda taught herself how to shoot a bow when she was bored one day—and a new obsession was born. Since then, she’s fallen in love with bowhunting and later waterfowl hunting (thanks to her husband who took her on her first duck hunt in 2020!). Amanda came to Field & Stream in August 2022 from USA Today with nearly a decade of commerce and product testing experience. She’s passionate about the outdoors and spends as much time as she can shooting her bow, hunting with her husband at Hart-Miller Island, and hiking with their German shepherd.

Education

Amanda graduated from Wake Forest University in North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in business management and finance.

Favorite Gear

I love my Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Heater. It’s lightweight and portable, heats up in seconds, and has saved me on many a frigid duck hunting mornings when we’re in the jon boat or blind.
