American Rivers is at it again and has helped send a google “street view” team down one of my favorite rivers here in Colorado, the mighty Yampa. While the river is in my backyard and is rife with tremendous cold water fishing up high and a super neat warm water fishery down lower, the real reason the Yampa is special is that, as American Rivers says, it’s “the last natural flowing large tributary of the entire Colorado River system.”

Last year the group helped thousands of people see the wonders of the Grand Canyon from the comfort of their homes.

This latest project “showcases the stunning scenery of the Yampa River through Dinosaur National Monument in Northwestern Colorado. The Yampa is one of the last wild rivers in the Colorado River Basin, and is an example of how wild rivers support vibrant recreation economies and fish and wildlife, and connect us to our shared natural and cultural heritage.”

So sit back, relax, and enjoy a splash of Warm Springs Rapid this morning from the comfort of your office or home.
