Y/N this is your version of 2am camp:
👉 species recapping of the python you caught earlier that day. If that’s your 2am camp, introduce yourself.
If you’re more of “keep the fire stoked, wake up in an hour, start the coffee” camper. No judgments will be rendered. We respect it and we aim for it (most nights).

Turn sound on for this one. Close your eyes and imagine you’re glassing a ridge when that crack rolls across the canyon.
This video is for your most stubborn friend 👉 tag them.
Two bighorn rams can hit each other 20 times in a row at highway speed… and walk away like nothing happened.
So how don’t their brains turn into soup? Observations:
💥 Massive curved horns = shock absorbers
💥 Thick skulls spread the force of impact
💥 Spongy bone structure helps dissipate the shock
💥 Necks built like suspension systems

Found this old plug digging through a box at Tom’s Sporting Goods in Morristown.
Radar sold it to us for ten bucks.
Worth way more than that.
But that’s not really the point.

For decades, the Dalton has been one of the last true DIY wilderness hunts in America but, that could change fast.
Stripping protections from the Dalton Highway also paves the way for the highly controversial Ambler Road. This industrial mining road would branch west off the Dalton, just south of the Middle Fork of the Koyukuk River. Its 211-mile course would allow Canadian and Australian-owned mining companies to access mineral deposits on public land at the southern end of the Brooks Range.
If constructed, the Ambler Road would bisect ancient caribou migrations patterns and disrupt prime wilderness fishing opportunities, according Hunters & Anglers for the Brooks Range, a group that includes scores of hunting and fishing brands along with big-name conservation groups like BHA, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, and Trout Unlimited—all of which oppose the long-sought Ambler Road project.

A Tennessee angler is celebrating today after catching what should soon be confirmed as the state’s biggest-ever largemouth bass. Darren Nunley caught the 15-plus pound lunker on Nickajack Lake on Saturday, February 28 while fishing with guide and long-time friend @hensleypowell
Nunley was fishing a chatterbait through hydrilla grass at about 8:30 a.m. when the bass hit, Hensley tells F&S. “I caught an 8-pounder on the same hydrilla flat the day before,” the guide and former professional angler recalls. “The bigger fish are starting to move into these flats in preparation for the spawn, so I knew Darren had a good chance at a nice fish.”
Nunley, a resident of Whitwell, Tennessee, says he’s been fishing Nickajack his whole life.

🚨 TENNESSEE MONSTER ALERT 🚨
Congrats are in order!!
Darren Nunley just might’ve cracked the state. Nickajack Lake produced a 15.75-pound, 29.5-inch largemouth Saturday … weighed on certified scales at Nunley’s local Save-A-Lot like a Thanksgiving turkey.
The catch is now in the hands of Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, under official review. If it clears? New Tennessee state record. Full stop.
That’s a once-in-a-generation bite. Who’s double-checking their drag settings right now?

For every dad who’s ever skipped a rock across a lake, here’s the new benchmark.
The World Stone Skimming Championship has been going down since 1983 on the tiny island of Easdale off Scotland’s west coast. They throw natural slate from a flooded seaside quarry — smooth water, tight lanes, no excuses. Three throws. Most skips win. Some of these lunatics are cracking 30+ bounces like it’s nothing.
Men’s, women’s, juniors — everybody steps up to the same platform. It started as a local get-together and turned into a full-blown international showdown. Coastal wind, cold water, bragging rights that last a lifetime.
Proof that the most elite sport on earth might just be something you learned at age eight.

If Bob Ross was a cedar man, and trees were feathers.
Meet Joey Jobes: he grew up in Havre de Grace, Maryland — the youngest son of Capt. Harry R. Jobes, a legendary waterman and decoy carver — and started whittling and painting decoys in his dad’s shop as a kid. He struck out on his own in 1976, splitting his time between fishing, crabbing, and turning blocks of wood into birds with insane detail and bold color.
This is generations of Chesapeake Bay tradition, every feather stoke’s a story you can almost hear. 🎨🦆🪵

F&S PODCASTS

In this episode of the Country Outdoors Podcast, Mary O’Neill Phillips sits down with Hunter and Chase Farrior of Spring Legion and Austin Collins, founder of the Quack Shack Podcast — three young hunters building brands around their passion for turkey hunting, duck hunting, and the traditions of the outdoors.
Hunter and Chase Farrior are the brothers behind Spring Legion, a brand rooted in the history and culture of turkey hunting. Hunter is also the author of Ballad of a Turkey Hunter and Any Given Spring Morning. Hunter draws inspiration from the storytelling traditions of legendary turkey hunters like Tom Kelly and Gene Nunnery and wants to be a bridge to the next generation of turkey hunters. Together, the Farrior brothers are committed to honoring the heritage of turkey hunting while helping preserve its future through conservation and storytelling.
Austin Collins is the voice behind the Quack Shack Podcast, a waterfowl hunting platform built around his passion for duck hunting and the culture that surrounds it. Through Quack Shack, Austin travels, records conversations with other hunters and outdoor entrepreneurs, and tells the stories behind the people, brands, and traditions that make up the waterfowl world.
Beyond the hunt itself, Austin is also a husband and father who believes the outdoors should be something worth passing down. For him, building Quack Shack isn’t just about duck season — it’s about creating a community and a legacy that his kids can one day be part of.
In this conversation, they discuss:
• The traditions and history behind turkey hunting culture• Building grassroots hunting brands from scratch• The influence of writers like Tom Kelly and Gene Nunnery• The role of conservation in the future of turkey and waterfowl hunting• Why storytelling and podcasts are shaping the next generation of hunters• The passion that drives hunters every spring and fall
For these hunters, the goal isn’t just building a brand — it’s preserving the traditions of the outdoors and creating something worth passing down to the next generation.
