You like the throttle on your quad, right? You use it a lot, right? Right. What happens if your throttle cable gets damaged or breaks while you’re out on the trail? Well, you’re either walking home or you’re stuck waiting for a rescue.
Bring along a spare throttle cable when you ride. You can duct tape an extra throttle cable to your quad’s existing cable, which means you don’t have to carry the cable in your backpack or storage compartment. Make sure that when you tape it to the current cable that there’s no way it can be ripped away…but remember a little bit of tape goes a long way. Thoroughly tape up both ends of the spare cable so that it doesn’t get clogged up with dirt.
And an extra cable does you no good if you don’t have the tools to install it. Make sure your quad’s tool kit has the right stuff.
