Here's a top favorite, and rightly so: A River Runs Though It (and other stories) by Norman Maclean (217 pp.; 1976. Published by The University of Chicago Press, Dept. FS, 5801 Ellis Ave., Chicago, IL 60637. Softcover, $11). This is the only fishing book to have come close to a Pulitzer Prize, which it should have won but didn't. Maclean's interweaving of trout fishing and family relationships will leave you smiling and with tears in your eyes simultaneously.
