This binocular, which was introduced in 1999, was recently upgraded with phase-corrected (P-coated) roof prisms. Judging by its heavy rubber armoring, permanently attached lens covers and waterproof/shockproof integrity, it was designed to handle the worst possible field conditions. Other features include extra-long (20mm) eye relief and a reasonably wide field of view. Surprisingly, the panelists were turned off by its appearance and ergonomics. But if you toss your binocular in any old corner of the pickup, it’s just the ticket.
